Thilakan to Hollywood

While majority of the Mollywood industry is busy finding ways to avoid veteran actor Thilakan, in their films, the thespian actor is getting busier than ever. After his powerful portrayal of the character in the recent 'Orkkuka Vallapozhum', Thilakan will be soon seen in Hollywood with the movie ‘Dam 999'.

‘Dam 999’, his second English movie will have some relations to the ongoing fight between the states of Kerala and Tamil Thilakan had earlier appeared as a notable character in Santhosh Sivan's much acclaimed movie 'Before The Rains'.

Mammootty,Mohanlal & Vijay in Yugapurushan

'Thalaivasal' Vijay, one of the finest character artists in Tamil cinema is going to play the lead in the Malayalam film Yugapurushan. The film directed by R.Sukumaran was in the planning stages for years.

Yugapurushan is a bio- pic on Sree Narayana Guru the saint, prophet and social reformer who broke the caste system in Kerala . 'Thalaivasal' Vijay will play Narayana Guru, a role which was offered to Mammootty and Mohanlal, as he has a close resemblance to the reformer and saint.

Mammootty is doing a cameo as K.C Kuttan, a friend of Narayana Guru, while Mohanlal is doing the role of Swami Vivekananda. Some of the other important characters like Gandhiji, Ravindranath Tagore, Ayyankali, Kumaranasan, E.V Ramasamy Naicker and other famous historical personalities will be played by Tamil actor Sathyaraj, Kalabhavan Mani, Jagathy Sreekumar, Siddique, Sai Kumar, Babu Antony, Saiju Kurup, K.P.A.C Lalitha, Sukumari and others.

Music is by the veteran Mohan Sithara, and cinematography by Ramachandra Babu, elder brother of noted cameraman Ravi. K Chandran. The film is produced by A.V Anoop, the owner of Medimix under the AVA banner.

The shoot of the film has commenced on a set created by the veteran art director Krishnan Kutty at Varikasseri Manna near Shornoor from Friday January 23.

Mammootty is a 'Loud Speaker'

The titles of recent Mammootty starrers have mostly been the best adjectives for the highlighted quality of the protagonist. Moving on in this track after the movies like 'Mayavi', 'Thaskaraveran', 'Parunthu' and 'Annan Thampi' is his newer projects like 'Handsome', 'Pokkiriraaja' and 'Daddycool'.

And so is the title of the latest Mammootty movie with Jayaraj. This new project is now titled as 'Loud Speaker', following the traits of the lead man who always prefers to talk aloud.

Mammootty will play the character named "Mike Gopalan" in this movie, which will be penned by Renjith. 'Loud Speaker' will be one of the important projects of the superstar, this year.
